Home Remedies for Allergies
While there have been many medicines which have been introduced for the purpose of treating allergies people prefer to use home remedies for allergies in order to cure the problem without being harmed by the side effects of the modern medicines. People usually happen to get affected by different kinds of allergies during the spring and fall seasons because of the high level of pollen which is in the air. During these two seasons people face a lot of difficulty due to the pollen in the air however in spite of facing inconvenience due to allergies people still prefer to use the slow and steady home remedies for allergies rather than going in for the modern medicines.
When people get allergies the usual symptoms are frequent sneezing accompanies by cold. In some cases people tend to have severe back ache and nasal congestion which sometimes even leads to inconvenience in breathing. Asthma patients are usually advised to carry their inhalers with them in order to take care of the breathing problem which they may have during these two seasons. However as far as these allergies are concerned people like to use lime water with honey, and like to consume more of green tea in order to increase their resistance towards such pollen grains which cause allergies. In addition to the these products it is also good for people to increase the intake of fruits which are high on Vitamin C so that they can continue using home remedies for allergies, rather than having to rely on the use of modern medicine.
A high intake of Vitamin C coupled with an increase in one’s water intake can surely take care of most of the allergies people suffer from however having 3-4 glasses of water a day is not going to solve the problem. People need to make sure that they take at least 6 to 8 glasses o water along with a glass off fresh orange juice on a daily basis, especially during these two seasons (spring/ fall).
It is great to be using home remedies for allergies however if we keep a simple tab on our fluid intake and proper vitamin intake we can surely avoid the inconvenience caused by allergies. All we need to do is make sure that we expose ourselves as less as possible to the outside environment in order to protect ourselves from such allergies.
Allergy sufferers can also be impacted by the appliances in their homes. Itchy eyes, runny noses, and sore throats can be remedied by air purifiers, dehumidifiers, and vacuum cleaners. An air purifier equipped with a good quality HEPA filtration system is an excellent defense against allergies in homes. HEPA filters, similar to the ones in hospital heating and ventilation systems, oftentimes remove as much as 99% of allergens and pathogens.
Using a dehumidifier to control the humidity in the home, can limit the growth of mold, dust mites, and mildew. Air conditioners also help maintain the humidity to the preferred range of 30-50 percent.
Lastly, a poorly designed or maintained vacuum cleaner can generate as much dust in the air as it removes. A vacuum with a HEPA filter will prevent recirculation of dust and mites while cleaning.
